Ito is a wooden decorative toy made through an exploration process, in which different applications and treatment techniques were tried to understand the material’s limitations and find innovative alternatives for use.
We began this exploration by asking ourselves how we can transform the material. For example, how can we stretch wood, how can we bend it, how can we change its colour? This process allowed hands-on experimentation and a design that plays with the material properties.
For the design of Ito I applied some techniques that explore wood flexibility, colour and material combination.
